The newspaper has taken on Sachin for his recent comments for saying that he was proud to be a Marathi but was an Indian first.

On its editorial page, Saamna has asked Sachin Tendulkar to concentrate on his game of cricket.

The editorial said, "There was no reason for Sachin to make this comment. Sachin has got 'run out' on the 'pitch of Marathi mindspace'. Sachin is the badshah of cricket and he should stick to cricket. He should mind his game and not comment on these things."

A two-headed snake has been discovered in a drawer full of rubbish in Illinois. When Jerry Williamson’s wife first told him she had found the scary reptile he thought she was pulling his leg. But to his surprise she was telling the truth.

Unfazed by the terrifying stigma attached to the two-headed Hydra of Greek mythology the couple decided to keep the reptile. They were worried it would not be able to survive on its own. They say it is a North American water snake and has just shed its skin. The ‘Nerodia sipedon’, as it is also known, is a large non-venemous snake active during day and night.

For those in the habit of talking on mobile phones while driving, here is the wake-up call. Government is likely to notify a rule soon under which people caught talking-and-driving would be fined Rs 2,000 or six months imprisonment or both. The punishment could be suspension of driving licence for six months if such acts lead to accidents.

Using hands-free devices or sending and reading text messages while driving will also be counted as offences. "A high-powered committee has already accepted these measures to curb dangerous driving on roads," a senior transport ministry official said.

The ministry, which has been fine-tuning the proposal of heavy fine and suspension of driving licence, will soon come out with a notification in this regard, empowering traffic police to enforce the provisions strictly.
