Wipro chairman Mr. Azim Premji's comment on reservation

I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this. Let's start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that.

Cricket rules should be modified accordingly.

The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by an OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century.

We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player.

Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player.

Any delivery above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters.

There can be reservation in Government jobs also. Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and politicians (that can really help the country...)

Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the country...)

Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward...
Lets show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country.
Let's be proud of being an INDIAN...

May the good breed of politicians like ARJUN SINGH long live...

i love this post atleast some have dare spoke about it

Reservation diluting the Indian administration power. We need better engineer who can lay better roads, we have that talent still we are using low talented person. I am not saying we shouldn't have reservation. We should have reservation for education not for the job. Once you used reservation next generation will not allowed use reservation that family should become OC in this way at least we don't have reserved candidates. I am an OC guy my friend was an sc where both of his parents are teachers, my father is farmer income depends on the rains. I was struggling to pay my college bills for him he getting scholarship and no need to pay fee. Actually i am sc here he is OC. But government providing facilities to him. I didn't see any meaning of reservation i am an Indian citizen, but I am not eligible for reservation.

Friends I am not jealous about him, just analysis. I am worried lot of times about our next generations, still today we don’t have projected plan how we can solve our problems. How much debt we have god knows. Our nation has tremendous talent, which is being, used by MNCs. This doesn’t end

wipro's great reputation is on the pendulum

hello sir,
Iam a fresher, just completed my engineering in may,2008. when i was in final year of my academics i have selected to wipro i.e in 2007as a project engineer. since then my relatives and my well wishers go on asking me that whether wipro will give me employement or not, i always have a single answer to them that is " wipro is one of the largest IT company in India, they will definitely appoint me". with that answer i tried to convince them and infact succeded.but day before yesterday i got a mail from wipro that they are offering me to join in wipro in BPO sector not in IT, and it is not an optional i.e if i show my unwillingness or doesn't respond to that offer my previous offer will stand cancelled. it is not the only case with me, it is happened for most of us who were placed in wipro. we are aware of the present market situation but we cannot hold the great reputation of wipro which is damaging day by day. no one is trusting wipro, even my parents. now iam not able to convince a single person, the thing is it is not my problem sir it is a problem of hundreds of people, . wipro's fame is on the pendulum, it may fall from the peak...
thanking you sir,
yours well wisher

The basis for reservation must change

Hi All, It's a good sarcastic comment by premji- but it fails giving a reasonable ground to oppose reservations based on caste/religion/community/region. Certainly caste based reservations made a change in the lives of SC/STs in these 50 years. 50 years ago when a backward community person comes and sits beside or touches a brahmin or thakur it was an issue. But, today 90% of OCs are rational and educated enough not to go for such practices. Today the only disparity in indian society is between the rich and poor. In these days when economics are driving countries to change their forgein policies as well, POVERTY must be the base line for reservtions. Let there be only two categories in students - The economically backward and forward. People say that age gives experience to people. i wonder why it doesn't give wisdom. It's unfortunate that a person of arjun singh's stature has kikked off such a nasty game where the youth started hating each other on the basis of caste - a hatred that started afresh in this country. Arjun singh ji aap bhi apne conscious ko poochiye... it also cries : "The basis for reservation must change" Jai Hind.

Hat's off Mr. Azim Prem ji sir

Today the reservation system in india is misused for the sake of vote bank

example: our former president Mr. k.r.narayanan's children has all the reservations...but not the children of a poor man in the forward castes.

india will never become a developed country untill the reservation system is shifted from caste basis to rich and poor basis.

Reservation - India, Where Next??

To All Indians Worldwide, this is a call; a call to all self respecting Indians who think that reservation is divisive, reservation is unjust. Most of the points I make in this essay is just a comment on how bad our political system is, how unjust it is. Every year thousands of graduates from this so called ‘booming’ economy bring more repute, businesses, growth to India. The so called ‘elitist’ workforce comprises mainly of hardworking qualified NON RESERVATION candidates who use their intellect rather than their religion to bring honor to the Indian ‘brand’ name. Every day an Indian in the world makes a mark NOT BECAUSE OF HIS RELIGION OR SOCIAL STATUS but because of the excellent and robust education system which grooms him to be the best in the playing field. This breath taking growth that India has witnessed is only due to such minds. When I look at this growth I used to feel a sense of pride, a sense of belonging that Indians are making their presence felt in a highly competitive environment which does not look at ‘third world’ contributions in a good light.
But today (or yesterday rather) I feel a sense of pain, anger, sadness that India would always remain in the abyss of hate, religious politics, promotion of a sect of people who wouldn’t stand a chance in the International playing field. Reservation would continue in the form of ‘minority’ community benefits and the percentages would slowly rise. India would again go back to the olden days where jobs were hard to come by. Coz without rewarding intellect and intellectual pursuits a country is Nothing. We don’t stand a chance against our counterparts in China, Korea, and other third world countries who want to take away the Indian juggernaut. It is not hard to foresee that there would come a time when all the corruption, pollution, lack of infrastructure, reservation, greed, politics, religious hatred would manifest into a country with no soul with little contribution from people of a ‘lesser’ religion (whose only fault remains in being part of a caste which does not have a voice). The so called ‘children’ of India would try to escape from all that would make India in the future! Hope they are successful in their endeavors!
I end this passage with a brief toast to all those Arjun Singhs and VP Singhs and the spineless political parties who don’t have the strength to stand up against what is morally wrong and reprehensible and who give birth to newer generations disillusioned more and more of our great democratic country that is India! India, I love you but I also hate you for being the breeding ground for all that is inhumane, corrupt, greedy, bureaucratic, and morally bankrupt!
This raving and ranting I presume would go into unread pages but I go back to my work with a feeling of having shared what it feels to be an Indian ‘open’ caste person who saw many of his friends never making it into science/medicine streams even after scoring a gargantuan 95 percent in the HSSC board syllabus! All you people who take the time to read and contemplate and do something to get out of the RUT we are in I salute you! Adios!

You totally misunderstood

Anudeep, you totally misunderstood the concept of Ajim Premji the politicians using the caste as a bait for power nothing more than that. India has lot of intelectual talent, bcoz of taht today India is surving, otherwise india will be no more. The present caste systme ruins everything. Presntly the private sector is bring revenue to India, if you wnat to loose that too, then I agree introduction fo caste system in private sector, Then everyone will be BEGGERS in the future. If you go into and Govt. office and observe how the caste systme is disturbing the work and other things, you're not aware of this i hope.

Why should we divide the people in by caste, we all are INDIANS, only collective decissions, collaborative work leads India into super power. If we still divide and subdivide, no one will gain except only the caste leaders and politicians. If you really wnats to remove poverty and want 100% literacy we need to remove caste system.

With the caste systme there isnt one paisa benefit at all. Eveyrthing is missusing. You dont understand what merit means.. Merit dosent means bagging gold medals etc.

In simple it is the ability to do a thing for his survival.

Can you answer my small question, will you purchase a torn shit Rs 300 from a shope if they reduce the price to Rs 200. you can stitch and use it and it looks good. Preferably no, if that is the case Wipro people have invested lakhs and crores of rupees, how do they hire an unqualified or untrained person. Why should they waste money, time, man power for providng trainning to them. For teh sake of rs 300 we're thinking a lot, then how should he think.

We think a lot(gurantee, warantee, usuability, life etc ) before buying a small thing. If you're think a lot for couple of hunderds then what about Premji or others expectations when they are investing huge sum of amounts. Isnt it right what he say?

Coming to the point of the Jobs, why should we beg them plz come to our place, plz hire me. Job is not slavery of something, ist just just a business, a trade giving and taking. No one upper no one lower.

Just to make note that I am from a backward caste and my father and grandfather were farmers, we came from a poor family, I know to what extent the caste systme helped me, infact nothing. I am deadly against caste system. Not only me every citizen of India should against caste system to have a better India.

GLAD SOMEONE REPLIED

Hi there .

Well My reply there was not only a personal attack on premji ,BUT also the whole sceane of the rich upper caste that has been running for years.

WHO WANTS THE CASTE SYSTEM,(EXCEPT THE HIGHER CLASS).WHAT MATTERS IS THE TIME YOU ABOLISH IT.CASTE SYSTEM COULD BE ABOLISHED 5000 YEARS AGO,IT COULD BE ABOLISHED AT THE INDEPENDANCE,IT COULD BE ABOLISHED AT THE MANDAL COMMISION AFTERMATH BUT WHY THE F*&* IS IT BEING ABOLISHED WHEN THE POOR AND NEEDY ARE NOW TO GAIN SOMETHING FROM IT

YOUTH FOR EQUALITY CAMPAINS ARE RUNNING TODAY WHEN  THERE WAS A FEAR OF LOOSING  SEATS AND OPPURTUNITY TO THE HIGH CASTE. WHERE WERE THE YOUTH FOR EQUALITY WHEN THE WHOLE DALIT VILLAGE IN HARAYANA WAS BURNT BY UPPERCASTE LAST YEAR AND THAT TOO WITH PRIOR NOTIFICATION.WHERE WERE "BRAHMIN SC EK HAIN" POSTERS WHEN SC AND ST WHERE NOT GIVIN SURVIVAL KITS IN THE TSUNAMI AFTERMATH.....

As i told india is not being divided by polititions but was divided thousands of years ago and is still doing the same.  Reservation should not be for some middle class sc/st in delhi or any other metro city,it should be for the rural people.AND IF YOU ARE FROM THAT BACKROUND AS YOU MENTION you know how they live in seprate collonies, dont like to see us and even dont drink the water of our homes.SO INDIA IS  DIVIDED NOT BY POLTITIONS BUT A HIGH caste HINDU and as you say MERITOUS person 5000 years ago.thats the result of merit

The caste system's filth is in the filthy minds of people which no system can clear and no reservation can cure.BUT and i mean BUT reservation gave us a chance to sit in those people,do work within them which was never done before and even ruling those filthy minds which even today think that our place is in the slums and I DONT SEE ANYTHING WRONG IN THAT.RESERVATION THEN DID A GOOD JOB AND FOR SOME MORE LITTLE TIME (you can see the ratio 5000 : 60 years? ) IT WILL CONTONUE TO DO.I PERSONALLY FEEL PREMJI TO BE ONE OF THOSE FILTHY MINDED PEOPLE.he is a coward afraid that a sc or st might rule over him.

SO you tell WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT BIENG A SUPER POWER COUNTRY OR GIVING EVERY ONE A CHANCE TO DO WHAT THEY WANT.IS THIS BIENG SELFISH .

YOU TELL ME THAT I DONT UNDERSTAND MERIT and gave a defination too but my dear freind MERIT IS THERE WHERE THERE IS EQUALITY.AND IF THE DEFINATION YOU GAVE IS TRUE THAN ALL MERITOUS PEOPLEE ARE THE MOST SELFISH ONES.

MERIT AINT A BUNCH OF ENTRANCE EXAMS AND GOOD MARKS.ITS HOW YOU WORK YOUR ASS ALL THE DAY AND STUDY ALONG TO JUST GET PASS AND SUPPORT YOUR FAMILTY.Its how you overcome your society ,every one discourages you even your own family.they ask you to join the family bussiness and he is broken down from all directions so can he score in the high 3000 of iitjee or some lakhs in AIEEE.

AS for your question A SHIRT IS DIFFRENT THAN A MAN ESP TORN ONE :-).

I didnt undestand a bit in the following para:-

Coming to the point of the Jobs, why should we beg them plz come to our place, plz hire me. Job is not slavery of something, ist just just a business, a trade giving and taking. No one upper no one lower

NO PERSONAL OFFENCE OR SOMETHING (I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND I DONT MEAN TO HURT YOU) BUT I THINK YOU NEVER FACED THOSE CONDITIONS WHEN YOU STUDY IN THE STREET LIGHTS ON THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR EXAM.I THINK YOU HAVE BEEN INFLUENCED A LOT BY YOUR FREINDS OR SOMETHING (NO OFFENCE AS I SAID) BUT CONDITIONS ARE VERY POOR.

TODAY ONLY DOCTORS AND ENGG ARE ON THE STRIKE BUT YOU KNOW THE DAY THE CHOODAS AND CHAMAARS GO ON EVEN A ONE DAY STRIKE YOU KNOW WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN.

YOU MENTIONED NOT EVEN A POINT(AGAIN NO OFFENCE) IN MY REPLY THAT WAS WRONG .IT TOOK MY A LOT OF TIME TO WRITE THE EARLIER REPLY .IT TOOK MY FRUSTRATIONS FOR PREM (I DONT WANT TO USE JI) .POINT OUT ONE LITTLE SENTENCE AND I WILL DEFINATELY REPLY YOU.

ANY WAYS I RUN A GROUP ON YAHOO GROUPS CALLED RESEVATIONPRO. DO VISIT AND I HOPE IT CHANGES YOUR MIND.

 THANK YOU FOR REPLYING

Glad to hear from you

Thanks for the reply. I don’t mean to hurt you or another; I am just posting my views. Well I don’t want India to be sub-divided again and again in the name of caste. We'll are humans, why should we differentiate in the name of caste. People are mercilessly killing each other in the name of religion/caste. Isn’t it you want the future India?

Well, I know how poor people are suffering and I agree what you have said, but I don’t want the caste system, it won’t help, in fact it ditches us.

Reservation should be in the form of encouragement positively but not negatively. If that is the case we all will pay for it in the future.

Now-a-days people’re changing their caste’s just for the sake of money, job etc. Do you believe does caste system will give any spiritual powers?

The right way of helping poor people is financial help. It doesn’t mean, that giving seats or quota. There won’t be any quota of seats, but only concession in fees.

In today’s world people need money. If you go and see in any private sector companies you’ll find lot of middle class and poor people working there.

If reservation is entered into private sector, the companies loose their profits and ultimately they’ll windup the company. It leads to unemployment again. Is that what you want?

Why because many people will misuse the reservation and only unskillful led people will gain jobs, no one can control it. This will become the economical loss too.

I still don’t understand how reservation will help this:

They need financial assistance, but not the quota of seats. They need good education, good food, and good health. Providing some quota of jobs in private sector, doesn’t make them to secure the job. Because many people will misuse it, trust me it’s the fact and it cant be avoided at any cost. Instead of the gain we’ll have economic loss and financial loss to the company.

Real poor people are not going to gain anything; it’s the fact in present. At max they gain 10% and 90% misuses. Many poor people don’t know about the assistance given by the govt. So others are misusing it.

My ideas:

1. It should be mandatory that all graduates need to go to villages and educate poor and help poor.
2. People need to save some money by avoid going to pubs etc and spend that money for poor.
3. Providing essential amenities for poor. (Government wont do anything, we need to do it voluntarily)

Many more ideas, I am ending it up to make it short.

I hope this is the way to eradicate poverty.

Once again, I dont want to hurt you or another, I am sorry, if I hurt.

hi there again

YA WE KNOW THAT IT WILL BE MISUSED.BUT SO WILL BE THE ECONOMICAL BASED RESERVATION.IF ONE CAN MAKE A FAKE SC CERTIFICATE SO CAN HE MAKE A POOR MAN'S CERTIFICATE.

THE POINT IS ONE CANT STUDY IN STREET LIGHTS TO SCORE HIGH IN ENTRANCE.AS YOU KNOW ENTRANCE IS JUST A SELECTION PROCESS NOT ONES TALENTS TEST.IF ONE WANTS TO BE AN ENGINEER THEN ENTRANCE TEST TEACHES HIM NOTHING AND SO ITS NOT REQUIRED FOR MERIT.

STUDYING IN THE STREETLIGHT ONE CAN ONLY SCORE SOME THOUSANDS AND THEN RESERVATION CAN HELP HIM.HE DOESNT NEED TO SCORE SO HIGH .HE DOESNOT REQUIRE TO BUY THAT RS 10000  CORESSPONDANCE COURSE FOR HIS DREAM COURSE.

ON FIRST HEARING AND ALSO TO SAY IMPROVE PRIMARY EDU AND HELP FINANCIALLY IS VERY AMUSING BUT IS IMPRACTIBLE.LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD .I KNOW HOW CORRUPT MINISTERS ARE BUT SO ARE HIGH CASTE PEOPLE TOO.

FINANCIAL HELP WILL TOO BE MISUSED.HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A KENDRIYA VIDHYALAY SCHOOL.MOSTLY YOU WILL FIND THOSE STUDENTS WHO DONT REQUIRE THAT FINANCIAL HELP.MIDDLE CLASS PROBABLY.BUT THERE IS A LOW CLASS ALSO WHAT ABOUT THEM.?

A LOW CASTE PERSON WHO FINDS SUCCESS (USUALLY)DONATES A LOT CAUSE HE HAS BEEN THROUGH THAT CONDITION.AND WHAT DO THE OTHERS DO DEMAND OVERTIME.THOSE AS I SAID BORN IN THE AC AND DIE IN THE AC PEOPLE CAN JUST EXPAND THERE BANK BALANCE AND JUST DONATE FOR FAME .SO I VOLUNTIER A LOT.BUT FOR THIS VOULANTARY ACT AT SUCH HIGH SCALE WE REQUIRE A MIRACLE ONLY.

WE CAN BLAME IT ON THE GOVERNMENT BUT WHO MADE THE GOVERNMENT.WE DID. ITS NOT ABOUT CONGRESS OR BJP ETC BUT ON THE OVERALL LEVEL .THEY ARE PEOPLE FROM US.

TO DO THAT OUR DEVIL WITHIN MUST BE KILLED AND WHOSE READY TO DO THAT.

I AN VERY HONOURED TO TALK TO SOMEONE WHICH ACCEPTS THE FACT YOU SAID ABOVE.BUT IN TODAY'SWORLD ITS MORE OVER A TIT FOR TAT RATHER THAN MERCY.

SO IN ALL OTHER METHODS RESEVATION PLAYS THE MOST PRACTICLE ROLE.I KNOW HOW IT CHANGED MY FATHERS LIFE OR ELSE I WOULD HAVE PROBABLY BE IN A COBLER'S HUT FIXING SOME SHOES.

AND I DONT THINK PRIVATE AND GOVERNMENT SECTOR AFFECTS SO MUCH.ITS JUST THAT THE GOVERNMENT SATFF IS A GENERATION BACK AND PRIVATE SECTOR EMPLOYS NEW ONES.NOTHING ELSE .YOU SEE WHAT PRIVATISATION OF ELECTRICITY BOARD DID NOTHING.YA BUT IF YOU CANT SPARE SOME MONEY IN LOSS JUST SO THAT A POOR KID MAY MEET HIS DREAM JOB THAN WHAT CAN I SAY

I HAVE A LOT OF IDEAS TOO BUT IDEAS NEED TO BE ACTED UPON AND TO ACT UPON IT IT SHOUD BE PRACTICLE(NO OFFENCE)

AT LAST I FOUND RESERVATION THE MOST PRACTICLE AND SAFE (SO THAT LOW CASTE'S MAY NOT GO UNDER SLAVERY AGAIN LIKE IT DID 5000 YEARS AGO)

REPLY'S MOST WELCOME

Lol

You are talking as if only SC/STs are poor and studying under street lights and all general category people are studying in A/C rooms? Uhhh? What an analysis brother? I worked in a steel plant(Vizag steel Plant) where all managers and senior engineers were SC/STs. Whe i went to do a project at the end of graduation ,7 senior SC/ST engineers were struggling to to a shunt motor experiment. IS this the progress you make?

Iwas born to general category parents nad lost my father at age of 6 and my brother at age of 16. My mother sold her gold bangles and she ate only pickle with some rice only once in a day. My brother worked as a mechanic in cycle shop. He earned Rs.600 per month and studied on his own and got state 1st rank in Ansdhra Pradesh entrance exams. Don't give lame duck excuses for your failure or lack of performance. I also experienced severe poverty and was not given any scholarship by YOUR FUCKING ARJUN SINGH GOVT despite scoring 98.2% marks and i was given a scholarship only by the farmers association of my native district after securing university gold medal.

I never blamed it on caste for not getting support. I worked as a news paper boy when i was studying my graduation. I didn't cried like a kid saying i am so and so caste, i can't get within first 3000 toppers, so give me IIT Kanpur CSE seat and IIM Ahmedabad seat so that i can make an aeroplane which will kill 600 people.

If you are so concerned abt improvemnt, work hard, study well with burni9ng stomache without food like millions of poor people(including all castes and religions across the nation). Today iam in UK and but still proud to be an indian not as a General category person. If political parties are so concerned with uplifting poor people. why don't they give proper education to all poor sections? From childhood, SC/ST kids were brought up with some kind of propaganda that govt will give reservation ,so need not worry abt it.

In Anna University in Chennai, they gave Mechanical Engineering Design seats to those who scored 70% instead of those who scored 98 percentile in GATE. And when companies came to recruitment in campus, not even a single guy from SC/STS was able to clear written test. Why? They never completed their course swubjects in first attempt despite getting Rs.5000 scholarship/month and then just Rs.1000 as fees per annum along with special grants worth Rs.3000 per month.(atleast OBCs work hard after getting into college and get jobs).

All they did was to buy some bike and ride on it from nungambakkam to adyar and pose some style before girls. End of course out of 96 SC/ST candidates studying on all M.Tech courses, only 1 person was able to clear a written test despite attending more than 17 campus interviews. You know reason why so manu of them failed? They don't have any fear of LOSING IN A RACE.

I know there is caste bias in north india villages. But don't generalize events in UP, Bihar and Haryana ans try to apply them to entire india. I can show you hundreds and hundreds of incidents where those who came with reservations and lack of skills are fucking up govt organizations. You know why indian govt gave up most of govt sector companies to privatization? It;s becoz of FUCKING loses caused by non-performing money eaters who will do mindless strikes whenever they feel bored.

I know and i experienced poverty, hunger, lack of opportunity despite getting extraordinary educational/even sports achievements(with a stomache which was always burning without proper food and don't think only SC/STs are suffering from poverty. There are poor people among muslims(descendents of mughal emperors are begging in kolkata. Are they forward caste or backward? Shia muslims suffering with extreme poverty but denied any help from govt), hindus(all castes including SC/STs), christians as well, even some sections of sikhs and budhists) .

You are talking about 5000:60. Let's imagine if some dalits oppress others for 100 years, will it be OK for you if others do the same to dalits? How that logic is valid? Can u call all muslims terrorists and throw them into prison if some muslims join taliban? If so, who taught education to ambedkar? With whose votes mayawati became chief minister? Even educated people like abdul kalaam said reservations are a plague.

Should reservatuions be cancelled? NO. They should be given to POOR people among all sections. And no reservations must be given to THOSE candidates who thru reservations AND STUDYING IN A/C ROOMS OF THEIR HOUSES BUILT WITH BRIBED MONEY FROM THEIR FATHERS WHO CAME THRU EFFICIENT RESEFVATION SYSTEM AND CAN'T REPARE A SINGLE ELECTRIC LINE FAILURE BUT CLAIM TO BE SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEERS IN GOVT ORGANIZATIONS FUCKING INDIAN ECONOMY AS PARASITES.

RESERVATION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO ONLY POOR PEOPLE FROM ALL RELIGIONS AND NOT TO THOSE SONS OF RESERVED FATHERS.

Do you think you have hit the bull's Eye?

You need a doctor, more precise a psychiatrist.
Why you waste your energy in writing such a useless comment.
First of all Reservation will help some but destroy many many.
Reservation should be there but after defining that who is going to take the benifit.
Yes, if anyone say Dalit, SC ,ST, OBC, I will oppose it because I have seen poor people in every community .
First decide it.

And Not every one born in A.C or sits in A.C.
And if you are telling us that reservation is a help only in beginning and rest the SC/ST/OBC is going to take care , then let me tell you no one is fool here.
Because reservation roots follows as :
1. Form Price.
2.Entrance marks ( qualify)
3.Fees
Now look
4. JOBS!!! ( what the hell is this )
5.Promotions ( I do not know you are aware or not , i am sure u r not)
and so on.

P.T Usha, we all respect and we want people to come in light by their talent not by your FUCKING !! big paragraph writing.

Let us go by Merit...Hand over lands to tillers...R U Ready?

How do you explain VVS Laxman, Ganguly (both Brahmins) being given several chances despite of their miserable failure? That is what Merit is all about?

· Though Tendulkar ( another Brahmin) plays for himself and his records and as a result country lost several times, been ensured a place in the team. Is this Merit?

· Did you forget Jarkhand dynamite Dhoni is OBC? Does bowlers do slow bowling for him?

· When Vinod Kambli hit two double centuries in a row, do you mean bowlers helped him and boundaries redefined?

· How many OC players got medals to our country in Olympics? (Leave about Gold any medal)

· You people have no right to talk about merit

· If Merit is the criteria Farming is also merit based activity. Hand over all cultivable lands to labor working there due to their merit

· Are you ready?

0 points

Yes we r ready

Just a refresher for you:
India won maximum matches Under Ganguli's captain ship. Do you know this? ( Now don't give a shit that team was full of OBC's)

Do you know Laxman( General) is considered to be best Test player, no you don't.
Let's do not talk about Sachin Tendulkar (General), just read interviews of grat players like Don Bradman, if you know him.

\Clear your Mind, noone is against anyone , we just want it to be done in a right way , I am sure you also want this, Aren't you?

Govt. discriminating citizens.

The above observation, I could notice only now. I am attaching herebelow my ideas on reservation & minority rights being misused in our country. The articles were published in 2002 in my book 'Musings of a Raja'. Believe this will not be out of place.
P.R.V.Raja.

Reservation.

Our Constitution provides for ‘reservation’ in admission to educational institutions and in enrolment to Govt. jobs for certain sections of people. This essentially takes the form of relaxation in the qualifications generally prescribed for the purpose and/or allotment of definite percentages of total seats to different reserved categories. Primarily reservation aims at the uplift of these people who are ‘backward’. This backwardness is the result of denial of opportunities to them by those in power before Independence. The system of Administration at that time discriminated among different sections of people, which ultimately led to the financial, educational and social backwardness of some groups. It is as a means of eradicating this backwardness that the method of ‘reservation’ was adopted. It was (and is) expected that this would help to bring the poorer sections on par with others in course of time. There is also provision for the evaluation of the system at intervals.
What has been happening since then? Though originally intended for five years, the scheme of reservation continues even after fifty years. Moreover, the number of reserved sections and the percentage of reserved accommodation have increased many-fold. The quota is fixed based on factors like religion, caste, language, place of birth, place of residence, financial status of guardian etc. Repatriates’ quota, ex-servicemen’s quota, management quota and community quota are other forms of reservation. Slogan of ‘son of the soil’ is menacingly growing in many States. With the setting up of Navodaya schools, reservation is extended to the school sector also. A new category, called ‘rural children’ is added to the already long list of reserved sections. Seats are reserved for participation in sports & games, performance in arts and memberships in NCC & NSS, irrespective of the course or job to which selection is being made. The percentage of reservation has gone even up to about 70% in certain States. In the sphere of employment, reservation is applicable to promotions as well. There is still a growing demand for expansion of the scheme to more areas and for higher quantum.
What do all these indicate?
Two points merit our consideration here. Reservation was a short-term measure. Even after ten times the expected duration, if it continues, that itself is an indication of its failure. Moreover it has expanded in all directions. The second point is that reservation is intended to bring the poorer sections on par with others. If the results were on the expected lines, the size of reservation should have been gradually reduced. But that is not happening. This again shows that the scheme is a failure. Thus it is high time for a revised approach. There are also other reasons why a re-thinking is necessary. The Central and State governments have erred in the method of laying down the provision of reservation and formulating the rules and in implementing the same. No thought has ever been bestowed on the disadvantageous position in which the unreserved sections of people are placed. It is clear that reservation denies opportunities to the so-called forward sections. Thus it is essentially discrimination between one citizen and another at the level of the Govt. In a democratic and socialistic set-up like ours, there is no justification for punishing individuals for whatever happened even before they were born. This does not mean that the weaker sections of people shall remain weak always. Since the system of reservation has failed to deliver the expected results, it is only logical to go for a more effective and justifiable alternative. Another glaring drawback of the quota system is that it directly reduces the merit element in the selection process, thereby adversely affecting the quality of the output.
Why has the system failed?
In the beginning, many people even among the unreserved category found ‘some’ justice and necessity for reservation for the weaker sections. But when the period of reservation is extended again and again, the areas of reservation widened and the percentage of reservation increased progressively, it created doubts in the minds of the un-reserved sections of people. They naturally fear that there are attempts to perpetuate the provision of reservation. They felt they are being exploited and punished for no fault of theirs. The political power in the country has always been concerned with ‘vote banks’. No effort has ever been made to ascertain the efficacy of the system of reservation. With facts and figures, the Government should have convinced those who do not enjoy the benefit, that reservation is a necessity for the uplift of the communities identified to enjoy it. Further, the Government should have revealed what steps it has taken to assess the success or otherwise of the policy since the beginning of the scheme and whether the provision for reservation is being properly used. It should further be explained whether reservation is a time-bound programme or whether it will continue eternally. Is there any tentative date by which time the Government expects all communities to become equal? Instead of giving acceptable answers to such questions, attempts are being made to perpetuate and to increase the quantum of reservation. During the time of the anti-reservation stir of the Ahmedabad students in 1985, the Gujarat Government’s press release contained only the oft-repeated explanation that reservation is a measure for the uplift of backward communities. The statement also contained certain figures about the higher percentages of reservation in some other States. In fact, it is this very approach of taking the people for granted and offering very unconvincing responses to their complaints and demands that often precipitate problems. The leaders of the weaker sections also do not seem to realize the basic purpose of the system and they want it to continue indefinitely. It is a paradox that they want the caste-based reservation to continue even when the caste system is abolished.
It is true that, at times, some leaders in the political and social fields have suggested a review of the system of reservation, but with no results. Some time back, the then Madhya Pradesh Governor, Mr.B.D..Sharma was reported to have said that “the reservation provision should not have been made in the first instance”. This was followed by a demand in the Lok Sabha for the dismissal of the Governor “for criticizing the provision for reservations and thus failing to protect and defend the Constitution”. It was also pointed out in the Lok Sabha that the Governor “had failed to act as a constitutional head”. In 1991, Mrs.Lekshmi N.Menon opined that “the social justice meted out through this (viz. reservation for the backward in educational institutions) only helps perpetuate the caste system”. While speaking at a conference of the Muslim Educational Society, the then Prime Minister, Mr.Rajiv Gandhi declared that minority rights and reservation would continue, “as long as they are required”. He has also emphatically told the audience that “the concessions could not continue indefinitely”. If the Prime Minister really meant what he said, then he should not have stopped at this. Not only that, during the preparation and implementation of the New Education Policy initiated at the instance of Mr.Rajiv Gandhi, the important factor of reservation in the field of education was never discussed.
Meanwhile some experts have made detailed proposals to replace reservation with other methods. But, thanks to lack of political support, those proposals had few takers.
There is also an entirely different face for reservation (though not directly regarding education and employment). The historical Poona pact paved the way for ‘reservation’ of Constituencies for Harijans. This could be treated as one of the forerunners of the present form of reservation in our country. More important, the Poona pact was more or less a result of Dr.Ambedkar’s insistence on separate electorates for ‘dalits’ (which however was not incorporated in the agreement). Separate electorate can mean separate nation. Conceding Dr.Ambedkar’s demand would have ultimately resulted in further subdivision of India and Pakistan. Gandhiji could foresee this and hence his famous Poona satyagraha against the demand. But the forces of the time were too strong for him, and the Poona pact emerged, which Gandhiji signed half-heartedly. Thus it was that the original demand for a separate nation finally resulted in reservation of Constituencies. This subsequently became one of the prime motivations for secessionism. Whatever good intentions were there behind the provision of reservation, they were offset by evil consequences.
The present scenario is that of a sharp division of the people into pro-reservationists and anti-reservationists. Both divisions are dissatisfied and the war against the system by the two groups is getting intensified and has already caused considerable loss of life and property. The events during the last few decades have proved beyond doubt that it is detrimental to the interests of the nation to continue with ‘reservation’. Banking on discriminatory rules and provisions will be suicidal, affecting the very existence and integrity of the Nation. The practice needs a revised approach and a new method, which does not discriminate citizen from citizen.

Minority rights.

Our Constitution provides for ‘minority rights’. By this, the ‘religious minorities’ are granted certain rights in addition to what the majority is granted in the matter of establishing and running of ‘general and technical’ educational institutions. It may be remembered that no religion is in any manner specially connected with general & technical education. In fact religious authorities need be concerned only with religious educational institutions. But in India various religious groups are managing a number of schools and colleges, professional as also non-professional. Since these institutions are not imparting religious education, all religions should have equal rights and similar access to them. Religious study is distinct for each religion. So each religious group may run its own religious institution. Even here no religion justifiably deserves additional rights. Majority and minorities shall be treated equally. Thus these special privileges, namely minority rights bear no scientific, logical or moral foundation.
While incorporating the provision of minority rights in the Constitution, was the proficiency in the field of general and technical education assessed religion-wise? No. Were the religious minorities found inferior to the majority in this aspect? No. Is there any difference, in so far as the benefits to be gained out of education are concerned, between members of the religious minorities and the majority? No. Why then was the provision included in the Constitution at all? Some leaders explain that the minorities shall not act as internal enemies to the Administration at the time of any foreign invasion! This is a sort of bribing. The strength and security of the country is not to be ensured in this fashion. Love for the country and pride of nationality cannot be purchased, whether from majority group or minority. Perhaps the series of Hindu-Muslim clashes that followed the Independence of India and Pakistan might have prompted the lawmakers to offer special rights to minorities so that they could gain sufficient confidence. This argument has no relevance now. The provision should have been scrapped years back. Moreover in a democracy like ours, majority and minorities should have been treated equally, even at the first instance. In any case, no authority has ever cared to offer a convincing explanation as to why the special provision was incorporated and why it is continuing.
Thus this is a clear case of discrimination. The majority always stands to lose. The minorities are exploiting the situation to gain more material benefits. More and more groups of people are demanding their inclusion in the list of minorities. Only recently, the Rajasthan High Court ruled that the Jains do not constitute a minority community, rejecting a request by a certain Private Educational Trust to recognize it as a minority institution. But we do not know what the political authorities would decide finally. There is concerted attempt to perpetuate the system. The politicians refuse to see the discriminatory nature of the special provision. They have discovered a ‘vote bank’ in it and are after wooing the various minority groups. While speaking at a conference of the Muslim Educational Society, the then Prime Minister, Mr.Rajiv Gandhi declared that minority rights and reservation would continue, “as long as they are required”. He has also emphatically told the audience that “the concessions could not continue indefinitely”. Though he made it clear that the special rights form a short- term measure and are essentially ‘concessions’, no steps were taken to implement his assurances. Not only that, during the preparation and implementation of the New Education Policy initiated at the instance of Mr.Rajiv Gandhi, the important factor of minority rights in the field of education was never discussed. No assessment has been made as to whether the minorities any longer needed the concessions. No study has gone into whether these special rights served any cause of the Nation.
Minority rights aid, directly and indirectly, a process of lowering of educational standards and commercialization of education. Corruption is rampant in almost all areas of private sector education, right from sanctioning of new institutions up to their routine administration. More important is the discriminatory nature and perpetual looks of the special benefits, which has already created discontentment among the majority. Those who enjoy special benefits want more benefits while the majority people want equality with the minorities. Sort of hatred and rift have come to exist among various religious groups. There is genuine doubt as to the usefulness of the provisions as well as the propriety of the same in a socialistic democracy. I do not know whether there is any other country in the world where the minority is granted more rights than the majority. Demand for special rights is also expanding to other areas and now we have almost everything in our country being decided upon the basis of religion and caste. The Governments discriminating the citizens on the basis of their religious faiths is unjust. The growth and development of secessionist tendencies is a direct outcome of various written rules and practicing habits, which discriminate citizen from citizen.
Solutions to the present problems are talked about rather than put into practice. However, a sincere, long and concerted attempt on the part of our leaders can surely bring about a welcome change. Discrimination of people in the name of religion has to be ended. For this, the first step is a re-thinking on the minority rights. It has to be decided that the practice would be discontinued, at least in a phased manner. In this matter, since the majority is in a handicap, it is for the minorities to take the initiative for a peaceful transformation. In fact, a section of the minorities themselves do not approve of the practice. Hence it is primarily the duty of the leaders of the minorities to enlighten their followers about the necessity to scrap the provision. Once, addressing a function organized by the youth in New Delhi, Pope John Paul II stressed the need for a struggle to eliminate, among other things, discrimination in the name of religion. Though many people have pointed this out earlier, it was all the more significant to hear it from the noble and important person of the Pope. The question involved is very important in a country like ours where most people are god-fearing and religious-minded and where we have a large number of religions. A grave point of discrimination lies in the minority rights, which have the Constitutional backing also. Incidentally, the religious followers of the Pope in our country are among the minorities who have actually unduly benefited by these special rights. Hence, it will be easier, if they come forward, as per the advice of the Pope, and accept abolition of this discrimination between religions. Moreover, this will put an end to the demands from different sections for more and more special rights. Instead, keeping the majority at a disadvantage will only increase the discontentment among them.

I really appreciate

I really appreciate the views of Premji. We do not need caste based reservation system. If someone is poor regardless of his caste, religion and faiths he should be given all the assist to study.
We do not want in-efficient people to get into wrong jobs due to reservation and spoil the productivity.
This creates the problem to the whole nation.
The political parties those devide people based on various issues should be rejected by educated people like us.

The idea of job reservation

The idea of job reservation can be very effective in many cases. It’s a scenically proven truth that a diversified workforce is far more effective than homogeneous workforce. I think job reservation should be made not only on basis of religion, but also on basis of gender. But everything has some drawbacks. Because of job reservation, sometimes a eligible candidate maybe eliminated. But still I support the job reservation.

Only FOOLS and depressed people will accept the Reservation

Anyone, with little commonsense can say Reservation is not going to uplift any community , in no way.
It needs a mentality to grow up, class to grow up and unbiased class is a Poor class which covers from every Cste , every religion.
Hindu, Muslim< sikh, Christian etc.
