Fake websites steals bank account details

Beware of fake bank websites!! Fraudsters are sending spam e-mails to people posing as banks and force them to click on links that take you to fake websites. The purpose is to decoy customers into revealing their user ids, passwords and PINs. The information thus collected is in turn supplied to fraudsters who commit identity thefts.

To avoid being duped follow these precautions:
• Do not reveal your identity and account details to stranger on the internet.
• Do not click on spam email links that ask for account details.
• Understand your bank’s style of functioning.
• Directly type the bank’s URL in the address bar.
• Check your bank statements frequently to identify any mishap.
