When we eat, food is rehabilitated into energy. The term "metabolism" refers to the way -- not the speed – that your body process and uses the food you eat.

Rather than "faster" or "slower" metabolism, it's most precise to explain metabolism as well-organized or useful versus inefficient or dysfunctional.

If you wish to lose body fat incessantly for many months until you reach your target weight, then you'll be better off if you work at increasing your metabolism rather than switching from one diet to another.

Do not be fooled by any crazy claims made by new diet program. Most diets generally work by creating a way for you to ingest fewer calories than required, and you'll lose weight in the beginning, there will be a time when additional weight loss will NOT occur since your body has modified to that new level of calorie intake.
