Business information warehouses are now a days have become a part and parcel of our daily business. You cannot ignore them at any means no matter how much you dislike them. SAP BW is definitely a good one.

SAP BW is a good product for middle to large companies

If your companies uses SAP (whether R/3 or ECC, etc.,) then you'll want to have a BW instance. It's just so much easier for your end users.
I'm familiar with SAP BW, but SAP is too big for just a small dental office...it would be total overkill. However, for mid & large companies that run SAP, they should be using BW for much of their reporting needs.
