When a person has difficulty in falling asleep, waking up too often so as not to be able to sleep, waking up very early every time or not feeling refreshed after sleeping, it is a sign of sleep disorder called insomnia. Effective sleeplessness treatment can cure this insomnia in which a person experiences trouble in sleeping. On an average a person needs anywhere in between of 7 to 9 hours of good sleep to feel refreshed the next day. Since each one is different, the sleep requirement depends on individual to individual.</p>
<p>Sleeplessness can cause the body to be dull and tired and can cause mood swings. When the body does not rest enough or rest properly, one has lack of energy, lack of concentration or focus, and fatigue. Insomnia can be of three different types such as: Mild Insomnia where the sleeplessness last for some days and it does not affect the day to day functioning. Moderate Insomnia is when the sleeplessness lasts longer and starts affecting the functioning mildly. It may cause fatigue and irritability. Severe Insomnia lasts much longer and impairs the functioning. It also results in anxiety, fatigue, irritability and restlessness.</p>
<p>Insomnia can cause many psychological and physical effects like headaches, stress, depression, accidents, heart problems and decreased mental functioning. It makes a person less productive and starts affecting not only the person suffering but also the relationships due to mood variations. People more at risk of suffering from sleeplessness are those with certain childhood fears, people prone to nightmares, women, aged people and people with certain lifestyles. Effective sleeplessness treatment includes physical relaxation, mental relaxation, massages, yoga, exercises, relaxing and soothing baths.</p>
<p>Medications are available for inducing sleep and are helpful for short term insomnia. Sedatives, anti anxiety drugs and tranquilizers are used for effective treatment of sleeplessness but they can have side effects and become addictive. The medicines can lose their effectiveness once the body gets used to it.
