Unexpected bleeding is always a concern for a woman at any stage of life. Bleeding other than a normal menstrual period and even an abnormally heavy period can be great cause for alarm. The medical term for excessive or long-drawn-out vaginal bleeding that occurs at the regular time of the menstrual cycle is known as menorrhagia. Metrorrhagia is the term used to pass on to uterine bleeding at irregular intervals, mainly between the expected menstrual periods.

Abnormal vaginal bleeding is any vaginal bleeding not related to healthy menstruation. This type of bleeding may include spotting of small amount of blood between periods often seen on toilet paper after wiping or heavy periods when you soak a pad an hour for more than a few hours. Bleeding that lasts for weeks at a time is also considered abnormal. However, bleeding in any of the next situations is abnormal:

• Bleeding between periods
• Bleeding after sex
• Bleeding heavier or for more days than normal
• Bleeding during pregnancy
• Bleeding after before puberty or menopause

Some possible causes of abnormal vaginal bleeding:

• Vaginal injury
• Vaginal disorder
• Blood in urine - sometimes mistaken for vaginal bleeding.
• Rectal bleeding - sometimes mistaken for vaginal bleeding.
• Menopause
• Ectopic pregnancy
• Cervix disorder
• Cervix cancer
• Uterine disorder

Natural Home Treatment for Abnormal Bleeding: -

• Include healthy and dietary food in your diet during menopause. Minerals like calcium, magnesium become deficient during this; hence diet rich in these minerals and vitamins, especially Vitamin D, is highly optional.
• During menopause, there is a chance of osteoporosis setting in due to loss of calcium. Hence take adequate care of your calcium intake.
• Foods rich in calcium are: milk and milk products, cheese, beans and peas. Soak one tsp carrot seeds in a glass of cow's milk for about ten minutes. Strain the milk and throw away the seeds. Consume this milk once in a day.
• The diet for a female suffering from menopausal disorder must include fruits, nuts, vegetables, sprouted seeds, alfalfa, soybeans, cabbage and olive oil. All of them provide relief from menopausal problems.
• Our skin and collagen fibers are very sensitive to levels of estrogen, a hormone deficiency causes, dry, thinner and aging looking skin, irritation, and wrinkles.
• Carrot seeds have also been found priceless in menopausal tension. A teaspoon of the seeds should be boiled in a glass of cow's milk for about ten minutes and taken daily as medicine in the handling of this condition.
• The vagina gets dried and cause pain during and after menopause is attained. Menopausal women should drink at least 8-10 glass of water and other fluids like freshly prepared fruit juice. However, caffeine, alcohol should be avoided.
• Vaginal Dryness and inadequate vaginal lubrication can be a very disturbing for most women due to the pain, discomfort and sometimes bleeding experienced during sexual intercourse. Without estrogen
