<p>Amarnath Yatra – A History of the Shrine</p>
<p>It is said that Lord Shiva wanted to tell the story of living forever only to Parvati. He chose the Amarnath caves for this purpose. He failed to notice the eggs out of which two pigeons heard this story and they became immortal. As per mythology, it is said that these pigeons can still be found in Amarnath.</p>
