is one of the most prominent milestones in the life of a Shiva devotee. Amarnath is a Hindu shrine situated amidst the snowy Himalayan mountain peaks in the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir.</p>
<p><strong>Amarnath Packages – Transportation to the Temple</strong><br />
Amarnath is a prominent holy destination in India and is well connected to Jammu and Kashmir. Helicopter services which operate from Srinagar are available to reach the temple. Jammu is the closest railway station to Amarnath. You can also take a taxi or car to Baltal which is about 115 kilometres from the city.  The Amarnath caves are 14 kilometres away from Baltal. <p><strong>Amarnath Yatra – Some Tips for Your Safety</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Amarnath is situated at a high altitude. Devotees have reported experiencing breathing problems and altitude sickness while making this journey. It is recommended that you make alternative arrangements for transportation in case you suffer from any kind of health condition.</li>
<li>The weather conditions in this region are highly unpredictable. In some cases, the Yatra may also get postponed. If problems like these arise, be well prepared to stay back at Jammu or Katra.</li>
<li>If you do not have any alternative arrangement for lodging and boarding huts and tents are provided on rent.</li>
<li>You need to be fit before setting out for the Yatra.  It is recommended that you chalk out a fitness regime and stick to it before the Yatra. Yoga or brisk walking daily will be fairly helpful.</li>
<li>Carry heavy woollens such as blazers, jackets, gloves and thermal inners. Your shoes need to be waterproof and walking stick, raincoats, umbrellas and sleeping bags may also be necessary.</li>
<li>Wear clothing that is comfortable for the climb to the temple. Your bags need to be waterproof and do not carry too much luggage while walking. It is also necessary to carry a proof of identity.</li>
<li>Carry any special medication that you may require and have them on time during the trip.  Carry first aid like savlon, dettol, bandages, cotton etc.</li>
</ul>

can prove to be very challenging and stressful. It is necessary to plan your journey well in advance in order to keep your trip free of hitches and purposeful.</p>
