<p><strong>Causes of Low Back Pain: -</strong></p>
<p>People above the age of 40 are more to develop this problem. As the lumbar region holds most of the body weight, being overweight can also be one of the causes for lumbar spondylosis. Sitting continuously for long time in a single position can also affect the lumbar spine. Family history is one of the basic causes and any injury in lumbar region can lead to lumbar spondylosis.</p>

• The main goal of a physical exam is to try and determine the source of the pain and the limits of movement.<br />
• Because most patients with back pain are on the mend or completely recovered within 6 weeks, imaging techniques such as x-rays or scans are rarely recommended in the first month unless the health care provider suspects a tumor, fracture, infection, cauda equina syndrome, or progressive neurological disease.<br />
<strong>Nutrition and Dietary Supplements: -</strong></p>
<p>• There is no special diet for back pain, but you can help keep your body in good shape by eating a healthy diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Choose foods that are low in saturated fat and sugar. Drink plenty of water.<br />
• Foods that are high in antioxidants (such as green leafy vegetables and berries) may help fight inflammation.<br />
• Avoid caffeine and other stimulants, alcohol, and tobacco.<br />
• Exercise moderately at least 30 minutes daily, 5 days a week.</p>
<p>However there are excellent natural remedies to alleviate the sufferings of the patients. Potato juice and celery juice are found to be useful for sciatica patients. Try switching to celery tea and see the difference for yourself. External application of fresh minced horseradish poultice and garlic on the sore spot also helps a great. Including raw garlic in your diet also is beneficial provided you are not on anticoagulants</p>
<p>Apply a hot water bag just before going to bed and try out simple exercises to support the lower back. Elderberry juice, watercress and parsley can prevent sciatica. Besides these natural remedies, ensure a correct posture and select a firm bed that gives adequate support to your back and to prevent muscle strain.</p>
