Like most character design decisions in anime, colors are often chosen to reflect personalities more than to be realistic depictions. While dark skinned is not a particularly alien choice, it's more often used to reflect a bouncy, energetic, fiery personality than actual nationality.
Naturally this includes Bottle Fairies and Tricksters, especially if they're women. The most common combination with this skin tone is a vibrant and noticeable light color. Red is very popular, associated with all sorts of playful Japanese spirits as well as the kabuki wig, so it's also a common (and deliberately unusual looking) palette choice for demons and Cat Girls. Red's a popular hair color for other reasons as well, of course.
Mak a paste of fresh ground mint leaves and apply it and leave it for about 20 minutes. Wash with cold water and do this for 15 days. This is one of the good home remedies for dark skin
Don’t over make-up yourself. Try to include the cosmetic items made up of herbs rather than harmful chemicals.
Studies reveal that taking too much stress and tension also lead to darker skin. This occurs especially under and around the eyes. Avoiding stress will help you reducing darkening of the skin.
Dark Skin Treatment
Try the lip exercise. Studies show that promoting the circulation in the lips as you try to exercise them by rubbing them against each other would help.
Use plain lip balm. It can help hydrate your lips and it prevents the lips from drying.
To treat dark skin, try the papaya mixture method. You rub the mashed papaya all over your body.
There is also the famous milk bath that is known to have beneficial effects to the skin and the body.

Home Remedies for Dark Skin
Take some oatmeal along with curd and tomato juice. Apply this mixture on the face and keep it for about 20 minutes. Wash your face with cold water.
Potato acts as a very good bleaching agent. Slice a potato and keep them over the face. This would lighten the marks.
Take a little turmeric powder and add a few drops of lime juice. Apply this on the darkened area. This would help to reduce tan effectively.
Dry some orange peels. Then, mix them to a bowl of curd. This would be beneficial in removing tan. Keep this for about 15 minutes and wash off with cold water.
Another effective remedy to remove tan would be to soak 4 almonds in water and keep it overnight. Grind these almonds to make a paste. Apply this paste at bedtime. In the morning, was off this paste with cold water.
Take a tablespoon of gram flour and mix it with 2 tsp of raw milk and 2-3 drops of lime juice. Apply this mixture and leave it for 15 minutes before washing off.
Mint leaves work well to remove the dark skin. Take some fresh ground mint leaves and make a paste of it. Keep it for 15 minutes and later rinse of.
Grate a tomato and add 2-3 drops of lime to it. Apply this mixture on the face and keep it for 15 minutes. Repeat this two times a day for better results.
