Your body needs cholesterol to function properly. But if you have too much blood, which can stick to artery walls. This is called plaque. Plaque can narrow the arteries or even block them.</p>
<p>High levels of cholesterol in the blood increases the risk of heart disease. Your cholesterol levels tend to accumulate as you age. Cholesterol is different from most of the evidence is not used to diagnose or monitor a disease but is used to estimate the risk of illness up - specifically heart disease.</p>

<p>Fruit - Fruit also gets hit for cholesterol-lowering pectin. Grapefruit pectin (found in the peel and flesh) lowers cholesterol by an average of 7.6 percent in eight weeks.</p>
<p>Carrots - Carrots can lower cholesterol, also through its pectin content, in fact, may be possible for people with high cholesterol levels below 10 to 20 percent just by eating two carrots a day.<br />
Exercise - It is possible that exercise may reduce the accumulation of cholesterol in clogging arteries; one of the best ways to increase your protective HDL cholesterol levels is through vigorous exercise, which also modestly reduce levels of LDL cholesterol desired.</p>
<p><strong>Home remedies for cholesterol</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Take 1 tsp. roasted chicory root, 1 tsp. flowers lemon, ½ tsp. fenugreek seeds, ½ tsp. rhizome of ginger, and 1 quart of water. Mix them and seek to boil. Let the boiled mixture cool. Then strain and drink two cups a day.</li>
<li>Eat a clove of garlic every morning on an empty stomach. In fact, consumption of garlic should be increased by the addition to the daily food preparation, reducing LDL cholesterol and increases HDL.</li>
<li>Include ginger in your diet because it also reduces cholesterol and thins the blood which improves circulation.</li>
<li>Take Guggul (India bedellium), which reduces triglycerides and LDL cholesterol by 35% and increases HDL by 20%. Guggul extracts are readily available in the form tablests and capsules.</li>
<li>Eat more of (70 - 90% of food intake) raw foods. If you can not eat raw, sauté vegetables in olive oil.</li>
<li>Eating barley. It's good if you replace the rice barley.</li>
<li>They usually oatmeal.</li>
<li>Eating apples daily after each meal. Apples contain pectin which reduces cholesterol.</li>
<li>Drink fresh fruit juices, carrots, especially, celery and beet juice.</li>
