Imagine a moonlit night, candles lit, the sound of the low romantic music, and that special someone holding you ever so close. You gently caress your skin, you lean for a kiss, and when it's time to share the most intimate embrace, cries, no fire underneath.
Oh boy, it really hurts! For many men, erectile dysfunction is a very common problem and embarrassing. It can be psychologically devastating. It can also lead to depression, marital separations and infidelity and self-deprecating behavior. Although many cures are available today, choosing the right method of treatment can be frustrating and extremely expensive.
So what is erectile dysfunction? The true definition of erectile dysfunction is the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the male sexual organ.
There are many advertisements on the Internet, radio and television that make claims that sexual dysfunction can be cured. State Advertisements that a man can increase your male sexual organ size and become sexually fit again. In fact, many companies make claims that a man's male sexual organ can be increased by up to three to six inches over a short period of time. They also argue that this increase in male sexual organ size will cause a man to have more confidence and thus cure your erectile dysfunction.
These claims may or may not be true, but the fact remains that an erection is, in fact, in most cases, a physiological problem. It is only in very rare cases, the problem is more psychological than physical. These cases are usually more of a problem of short duration, caused by temporary stress, fear or apprehension. There is one simple cause for erectile dysfunction, so there is no simple cure. It can be caused by several factors. The most common myth is that this only happens with the elderly. For centuries, it was just accepted that men become less and less sexually active as they get older. This is not necessarily true. Old age does not really have much to do with not being able to become erect. Both young and older men may also suffer from erectile dysfunction. While it is true that a large majority of older men experience this problem, it really has more to do with decreased blood flow to the male sexual organ.
The male sexual organ becomes erect in fact, when the blood flows into the corpus cavernous. These are the two partially hollow columns forming the sides and back of the male sexual organ. These axes engorge with blood in an erection. There is also a spongy body running under the corpora cavernous, which run the entire length of the male sexual organ. It surrounds the urethra, and partly engorges with blood in an erection. The outer edge is the glans, and in the end is called the bulb. Once an erection is caused exclusively on the flow of blood, almost any type of erectile dysfunction can be treated and cured, provided there is no physical damage to the male sexual organ itself.
For many years, scientists, doctors and researchers have conducted tests to try to treat erectile dysfunction. It was widely believed that erectile dysfunction can be cured with natural herbs and vitamins. Some even thought that the music of meditation, gentle, or even wine could cure this problem.
