Not everyone is well-versed with MMS and while some have a lot of knowledge about it while others are not so experienced when it comes to MMS. If you have some basic idea about SMS or short messaging service then you will definitely be able to understand what MMS is. It is just like an advanced form of SMS, it allows one to send texts, videos, files and pictures.  In order to receive an MMS, one has to activate MMS on one’s cell phone.</p>
<p>It is a relief to know that almost all of the newly produced phones have MMS facility, unlike the older models. If you are lucky enough then you might be able to access MMS using your old phone too! In order to send an MMS, the receiver’s handset should be MMS enabled too, at times the sender’s MMS would not be receivable on the receiver’s handset because of the incompatibility of two models. Unlike SMS settings, MMS settings cannot be configured by the user and it depends totally on the brand of the cell phone being used.</p>
<p>After you have purchased a new cell phone, you will have to contact your network operator in order to activate MMS on your phone. All the mobile store operators in India offers MMS service, hence you do not have to worry about them not having it, you simply have to make a call to them to activate it, and you will also need to pay monthly fees for it.</p>
<p>So after your network operator has provided you with your MMS service you will have to follow certain steps in order to configure your MMS service. After the steps are complete, you will be able to receive as well as send MMS messages. You just have to ensure that you have followed the steps properly because a slight mistake could mean the inability to receive or send MMS messages.</p>
<p>After you have configured your MMS settings, you could attempt a trial run by clicking a picture with your cell phone if you don’t already have a picture and then sending it to a friend who has MMS service.</p>
<p>There are many people who use MMS for the wrong reasons such as sending illicit content in the form of videos, pictures, etc. If you happen to know anyone who engages in this kind of practice then you should inform your operator in order to stop receiving such unwanted MMS messages from strangers.</p>
