Just got a new computer and want to transfer your iTunes library onto it? Here is an easy way I've used. All you need is this iTunes to iTunes transfer program - an easy-to-use iTunes transfer software designed to help you backup/recover/transfer your whole iTunes library and media files.

The following are easy steps:

Part 1: Backup your iTunes library

Step 1. Download the free trial of this iTunes to iTunes transfer software on your computer and install it to try.

Step 2. Select your preferred language, backup type and backup folder.

Step 3. Click the "OK" button on the UI and then, in the pop-up windows dialog, choose a backup name and typewrite the name of the creator (optional). Change the backup type if you want, then "OK".

It will automatically scan the iTunes library on your PC and start to backup. After backup, it's a folder in My Documents\iTunesBackup (if you did not change the default settings)

Part 2: How to transfer the backuped iTunes library to new computer

If you want to transfer the itunes library to your new computer, simply Copy the backuped folder to your new computer via your external hard drive, and then plug it in and copy to the hard drive of your new computer.

Make sure iTunes has been installed on the new computer, and just copy the contents of the iTunes backuped folder from your external hard drive to the new computer (in the same location as the old computer). iTunes will recognize the files the next time you run it. Done.

Apparently MOD is some sort of MPEG-2 encoding, however, most major video editing suites prefer not to accept this format. People who are interested in movie editing may have encountered the issue- what to do with the MOD files? Re-name .MOD to .MPG? However, these files cannot be imported into WMM. So the MOD file format needs to be changed.
