These contents, usually portions of intestine or abdominal fatty tissue, are included in the thin membrane that naturally lines the inside of the cavity.</p>
<p>Hernias by themselves may be asymptomatic (no symptoms) or cause some severe pain. Almost all have a potential risk of cutting its blood supply (strangulation).</p>
<p>When the contents of the hernia protrudes, the opening through which protrudes can apply enough pressure to the blood vessels constrict in the hernia and therefore the blood supply is cut.</p>
<p>A hernia is an opening or weakness in the muscular structure of the abdominal wall. This defect causes a bulging of the abdominal wall. This bulging is usually more noticeable when the abdominal muscles are tightened, increasing the pressure in the abdomen.</p>
<p>Any activity that increases abdominal pressure can worsen the hernia, examples of these activities are rising, cough, or even force a bowel movement.</p>

<p>As a result of this hole or defect, the contents of the abdominal cavity, such as the intestine, fat and other organs, may tend to push through this hole by the normal pressure occurs in the abdomen.</p>

<p>Elevate the head of the bed 6 inches by placing bricks under the bed. The gravity helps prevent stomach acid to move up the esophagus while sleeping. Do not use pillows, as they tend to increase pressure on the abdomen. This is very effective home remedy for hernia.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Avoid large meals. Eat small, frequent meals, soft to keep the pressure on the esophageal sphincter.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Do not eat at least 2 hours before bedtime.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Avoid spicy and acidic.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Do not bend over or lie down after eating.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>For the treatment of hernia prevents the consumption of alcohol.</p>
