The menstruation is defined as monthly discharge of blood from the uterus of non-pregnant woman from the period of puberty to menopause.
Stopped menstrual flow is a major indication for conceiving a child. The normal menstrual flow comes for 3-5 days and the normal cycle pattern range from 24-32 days.
The irregular menses is labeled when a lady suffers from the bleeding that is not related to the regular cycle, when periods are longer and heavier as compare to normal, when there is no or missed periods etc.
This is abnormal uterine bleeding, which may be caused by certain medical problems like hormone imbalance.
The most common causes known are dysfunctional uterine bleeding and uterine fibroids. Abnormal excessive uterine contractions results in excessive oozing of menstrual blood along with endometrial tissues, giving rise to this ailment.
Pre-Menstrual Syndrome: It has been observed that approximately, 40 per cent of menstruating women. It tends to occur 3-7 days prior to the menstrual period.

Irregular menstruation is commonly seen in women. It can be absences of menses, excess blood loss in menses, painful menses, irregular menses, and menopausal syndromes etc. This disturbance gives great discomfort to women.
Menses are the condition controlled by endocrinal system of the body. Hormones are the major contributor in normal menstrual cycle. Disturbances in secretions of hormones may lead to disturbed menses, leading to problem to women.
Generally pelvic area lower abdomen thighs and back become tensed and may be painful during any disturbances in menses.
Home Remedies for Menstruation
Goldenseal with a very small amount of mistletoe is an effective remedy to reduce blood flow.
To relieve menstrual cramps quickly and easily, wrap a hot, wet towel around mid-section and lay in the fetal position.
Chamomile, parsley, safflower, and squaw vine is useful in cases of amenorrhoea.
Boil a teaspoon of saffron in a half cup of water until it reduces to a tablespoon. Divide into three portions and take three times during the day. This gives relief to cramps.
Make a paste of six or eight almonds and mix with a cup of milk, an egg yolk, a half-teaspoon sesame powder, and a teaspoon honey. Take a couple of times a day to relieve cramps. This is one of the best home remedies for menstruation.
Drink a glass of milk with a half-teaspoon cinnamon every night to relieve cramps.
Place a pinch of dried ground ginger in a cup of hot boiling water for a tea (no sugar), and let steep for 5 minutes. Drink this tea. It will give relief to the cramps.
Dissolve 2 aspirins, 1/2 tsp. of sugar and 1/2 tsp. of honey into 1/2 cup of water. Drink this solution if you are missing periods.
