Vitiligo also known as leucoderma, simply means white (leuco), skin (derma); i.e. a disorder where the skin loses its normal color. The typical appearance of vitiligo is milky white de-pigmented spots.
It has a tendency to start as a single spot and gradually grow in size and number. Melanin is the pigment that gives the skin its characteristic color. Vitiligo is caused by a loss of pigment in the skin, due to destruction of pigment-forming cells known as melanocytes. Patients who are stigmatized for their condition may experience depression and similar mood disorders.

Turmeric and Mustard Oil
These herbs have also been found to be effective in treating this skin disorder. Approximately 500 grams of pounded turmeric must be soaked in 8 kilograms of water, and animated until only a kilogram is left. Damage the remaining mixture and add 500 grams of mustard oil. Reheat the mixture until only the oil is missing. Afterwards, apply the oil on the white patches each morning and sunset for a month.
The patient should be kept on a salt-free diet as the absence of salt in the diet wilf speed up the recovery. Only rock salt is advised and that too in small quantities. Vegetables with a bitter taste like bitter gourd are beneficial.
Radish treatment
Take about 35 gram of powdered radish seeds and make a paste of it by mixing with 2 tsp of vinegar. Apply this regularly over the white patches on the skin.
Increase the consumption of walnuts and figs. While walnuts purify blood, figs have healing properties to cure leucoderma.
Psoralea and Tamarind seeds
These two herbs should be first soaked in water for 3-4 days and dried after. Some time ago dry, these must be grounded into a stick and useful on the patches for one week.
Neem is very effective in treating leucoderma. Try to drink a glass of neem juice everyday.
Soak spiraled seeds in ginger juice for 3 days. Thereafter, dry them and grind to make a fine powder. Have 1 gram of this powder, with a glass of milk, for about a month. You can also apply this powder on white patches.
Exposure to sun and heat should be avoided
The patient should avoid worry and mental strain. If he is costive, that situation is supposed to be ameliorated initial before the regimen indicated on top of can help.
