Summer is the peak season and lasts between April and late September. Ooty is dotted with tea estates, the main livelihood of many living here.</p>
<p>The mountains of Ooty are rich in flora and fauna, endless grasslands, cascading waterfalls, streams, and lakes. Some of the outdoor activities that tourists can enjoy include a guided tour to tea estates, taking long walks enjoying nature, small treks and cycling. Places tourists can visit in Ooty are the Botanical Garden, Government Museum, Kalhatty Falls, Rose Garden, Mini Garden, Mudhumalai Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park and the Ooty Lake. Ooty is famous for its highest peak which is the Doddabetta peak. Summer festival is quite famous and tourists flock to this hill station to catch a glimpse of different types of flowers and plants.</p>
