Symptoms of Leucoderma

When the cells that make pigment cease to function white patches begin to appear at different places on the body. These patches also appear inside the mouth and nose and on the scalp. The hair that grows on the infected area of the scalp turns white. Usually these white patches are first noticed in the summer and are more susceptible to sun burn because the protective pigment melanin isn't present.

A mixture of turmeric and mustard oil is another helpful concoction. This can be done by pounding approximately 500 grams of turmeric and left steeped in water overnight. The next day, it should be boiled until it goes down to only one liter of water strained and blended in 500 ml mustard oil. The mixture is then heated until the turmeric dissolves. It will again be strained and stored for future use. The oil and turmeric mixture should be massaged on the affected areas twice daily for several months.
