Sattal
is a beautiful place which is conveniently nestled in between beautiful oak woodlands. The breathtaking snow capped Himalayas lie at the backdrop of this serene place. Sattal is the ideal combination of tranquillity and serenity. Sattal means serene seven lakes. There are fresh water lakes. Sattal is located at an altitude of one thousand three hundred and seventy metres and is about twenty three kilometres from Nainital, which is known as the queen of all hill stations.

This wonderful resort is surrounded by meandering trails, impenetrable forests and lavish green hills. There are a number of Uttarakhand hotels and one such famous resort is the Sattal Birding Camp.

Tourists may either take the Delhi road via Moradabad for reaching Sattal or there is a train plying between Delhi to Ramnagar. From Ramnagar, Sattal is a four hour drive. Mukteshwar and Ramgarh are also ideal places that you can visit.

Uttarakhand is rich in flora and fauna. There are more than two hundred and thirty varieties of birds. Tourists will be able to spot beautiful babblers, minivets, pigeons, mynas, babblers, and bulbuls. The area is rich and has a variety of butterflies and is famous in Asia for this reason.
