This is a beautiful Portuguese estate located on the waterfront, on the banks of the Chapora River, very near Morjim Beach.
The Accommodations
The Portuguese styled structure with its verandas and balconies provides stunning views of the waterfront. Located in the fishing village of Morjim, it is nestled in the midst of coconut groves. The property and the interiors reflect the lifestyle of the erstwhile Portuguese aristocracy in India.
This 7000 sq ft house has five bedrooms with attached bathrooms, drawing room, dining room and an open floor plan kitchen. There is a large family room that houses a library, TV and a built-in bar. The covered pavilion in the top floor offers a 360 degree view of the surroundings – the coconut groves, the river and the sea. It is an ideal setting for a cozy family gathering or a barbeque.

Panjim Pousada Heritage Hotel
Part of a trio of heritage hotels, The Panjim Inn, Panjim Pousada and The Peoples, Panjim Pousada is one of the few Hindu houses in the predominantly Catholic neighborhood. It is the quietest of the three hotels.
The building was once a traditional Hindu home where the ladies of the house used to worship the auspicious Tulasi plant on a daily basis. This structure has been wonderfully maintained and converted into a hotel without too many changes. The house retains its traditional serene ambience. This Hindu mansion from the colonial era provides a fine blend of the traditional atmosphere with modern conveniences.
There are nine bedrooms around the central ‘chowk’, with antique cupboards, rose and teak wood furniture and old lamps that blend in softly with the modern plumbing, fans, air conditioners and cable TV sets.
